Voter’s meeting Highlights April 2021

Ford Nicholas Schaefer, son of Nick and Amy Schaefer was received into membership by Holy Baptism (2-28-21).  Marjorie E Hagedorn (2-2-21) and Elda A. Friedrichs (2-9-21) were given Christian burial last quarter. There were no releases.

While the Elders have expressed their appreciation for the good working relationship with Pastor he also thanked them and the congregation for the opportunity to serve among us.  It continues to be a joy in his ministry and he is glad that we have been able to continue regular worship during this time.

It was decided to discontinue the mask requirement but keep practicing social distancing.  (Masks and sanitizer will remain available and reasonable distancing will continue including as we have doing for Holy Communion distribution.)

Some roof damage to the museum was noted and will be addressed and pasture tree clean-up and fence repair will continue.  Lynn Bargmann submitted the high bid for pasture and meadow rental.

The School Board thanked everyone for participation in the successful school auction.  Children are in class and closing program is scheduled for May 14.

Elections: Board of Education – Ryan Schotte, Auditing Committee – Don Schotte: Cemetery Committee – Dave Stohs.  Dennis Minge was appointed to the Endowment Fund Committee.

The Cemetery Committee is planning for the Memorial Day program.  The plans for the cover over the cemetery sign is on hold because current lumber quality is questionable.  They will continue the current texting notification for mowing groups.    

It was decided to make plans for the Smorgasbord.  The committee will be continued from last year; Bob and Racheal Bohlken, Ben and Aubrie Schaefer, Steve and Margaret Schotte, Scott and Jamie Schotte, Matt Bargmann. 

A thank you was rendered for all those who helped to prepare for the Lavonne Germeroth sale and a thank you note and $100 appreciation gift from Dave Moser, administrator was acknowledged.

Other thankyous for our financial support from special collections were acknowledged from Twin Valley, Lutheran Braille Workers and Lutheran Urban Mission Agency.

The Kansas District responded to our ongoing Mission Goal support, our ongoing investment and support for the Church Extension Fund and also our special 150th Anniversary gift of $5,000 each for the Church Workers Debt reduction Fund and Support for the District supported missions in West Africa. 

The Richard Schotte memorial gifts to Lutheran Hour Ministries and Missionaries John and Erica Tate in the Dominican Republic were also noted.
