Voter’s Highlights – October 2021

Ralph Anderson, husband of Susan (Stohs) Anderson - a former member, was interred at our cemetery. (7-22-21) Marvin Beckmann was given Christian burial. (8-15-21) The family of Allen, Angie and Wyatt Steinfort and also Wade Steinfort have been transferred to Trinity, Hanover. (8-24-21)

Pastor indicated his joy and satisfaction to continue his service as our pastor and specially mentioned the care for not just him but also his family.  It is greatly appreciated.  He and Pastor Miller continue to coordinate and share responsibilities for teaching religion and conducting chapel at Good Shepherd. He and pastor Miller have been meeting with the teachers work on a Mission and Vison statements for GSLS.  They will also be working through the same process with the GSLS School Board. Also with their respective congregation Elders and Officers as an internally driven self-study preceding work on calling a Principal and/or 7th and 8th grade teacher.      

The Elders reported that they continue monthly meetings and Bible Study with Pastor and all items for Elder’s consideration seem to be working smoothly.  They are pleased with the good working relationship with Pastor. Future Mission offerings from the Imm.-Beth. joint Mission Festival will be coordinated through the joint Board of elders.  Ideas for Mission projects are welcome.  Scott Drinkgern again treated facilities for insect control. A thank you is rendered.

The School Board reported that Miss. Klipp is a welcome addition to the staff at Good Shepherd. The board is involved in the Mission and Vision project.  A donation of chairs and table for Sunday School from a Bernice Stohs memorial was noted.

Several more deteriorating trees have been removed.  The electric power upgrade to the ball diamond has been completed and is now on a separate meter service. 

Elections: Trustee – Mel Kruse, Financial Sec. – Jason Schotte, Collector – Darold Beckmann, Usher – Gary Dwerlkotte, Ath. Comm. - Wayne Holle Doug Schaefer as Zone and District representative from Immanuel.   

Nominating Committee 2022: Robert Bohlken, Ch – Steve Schotte – Dale Pralle – Clair Friedrichs – Wayne Crome. 

 Constitution has been submitted to the Kansas District for review.  Discussion, initiated from the Nominating Committee, to consider a Constitution change to include all male members in the Voter’s assembly of the congregation after having attained and agreed upon age.  Further discussion and action to follow as the Constitutional changes are considered for final adoption.

Proceeds from the Lavonne Germeroth Estate have been received.                A committee is being formed to consider the use of these funds to include one selected representative from each: the Board of Elders – School Board – Board of Trustees – Cemetery Committee – Board of Finance – The Executive Board – and including Pastor. The list of the committee members to be published in the bulletin for members to share ideas for possible usage of these funds. A donation of $500.00 to the Bremen LYF for the help the members provided for the Germeroth sale preparation

Submitting Kansa District nominations for re-election: Rev. Justin Panzer- pres.: Rev. Alan Stahlecker – Region 2 VP: Dan Thalman, a member at St. Johns, Palmer, – Region 2 layman BOD Rev. Matthew Durance will assume the position of Circuit Visitor after the District Convention scheduled for June 9-10.
