Voter’s Highlights – January 2022

Emberly Sue Holle, daughter of Josh and Melisa Holle was received into membership by Holy Baptism (10-17-21).  Loretta Bargmann, (11-16-21) Selma Come, (12-16-21) and Wilmer Bargmann, (12-17-21) were given Christian burial in the last quarter. There were no releases.

Pastor made special mention again about the joy it is to serve among us and rendered a heartfelt thank you for the generosity shown to him and his family, especially through the Christmas season.  He and Pastor Miller continue to share the 7/8th grade religion instruction and will be working on evaluation of the overall religion curriculum.  The review of the Mission and Vision for Good Shepherd is ongoing.

 

The Elders rendered a thank you to Pastor for the dedication to his ministry, especially through the Advent and holiday season.  A Memorial gift was sent to the family of Pastor Richard Albers who served us during our vacancy and passed away recently.

 

The Trustees reported that the dishwasher and water heater were replaced and a garbage disposal was added at the parsonage.  Funds have been received from insurance for repair of roof damage, primarily on the school museum building and some on the church. The trustees are to get bids for possible tin roof installation for the museum building.

 

The school Board reported there will be Association meeting February 13th. The call process for Abigail Meyer is completed since her colloquy program completion.  A contract has been extended for Allison Klipp as 7th and 8th grade teacher.

 

Austin Schotte was re-elected to a three-year term as collector.

 

The Wilmer and Loretta Bargmann memorial monies in the amount of $1,744 will be used to establish an audio-video fund. 

 

 

The Committee to consider the use of funds from member bequeaths presented a list of ideas for use of some of these funds and are still open to other suggestions. Committee members are Gerald Stohs, Melvin Kruse, Ryan Schotte, Don Koehler, Jason Schotte, Craig Lister and Pastor Fenker.

Organ Fund

Scholarships

Repair step in front of church

Congregation mailboxes

Basement kitchen turned into storage

Cemetery expansion

Cemetery stones straightened and concrete covers removed

Ballpark concession/storage building

Ballpark lights

Cedars removed or cleaned up north of parsonage

Water issues in the museum basement

 

These several suggestions were acted on.

It was moved, seconded and carried to purchase a defibrillator.  An amendment was made to use Smorgasbord funds to pay for it.  The motion as amended carried.

It was moved, seconded and carried to authorize the trustees to consider plan options and get bids for a replacement attached garage for the parsonage.
